What I do
My current job is Data Integration Partner at Finsbury Food Group. Day to day that's the SQL layer - tables, views, stored procedures - sitting behind the Power BI reporting the rest of the business uses, plus ETL from the ERP, HR, and various external APIs, and Python automation for the jobs that can't sensibly run through the BI stack.
Before Finsbury I did similar work at Arcus FM and Staffscanner, mostly replacing spreadsheet reporting with proper pipelines and self-serve BI.
I'm currently looking for analytics-engineer roles. The F1 project on this site is me working through an open-source stack (dbt, DuckDB, Observable) end-to-end, because my day job covers most of the same skills with Microsoft and on-prem tools and I wanted something I could point people to.
I like making other people's work easier and solving hard problems.
Tools I reach for
SQL most days. Python for automation, API pulls, and anything analytical. Power BI for end-user reporting at work. Outside work I use dbt and DuckDB for the modelling layer, Observable Framework and Astro for publishing, and Git for the lot. Full list on the colophon.
